1) Current valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction teacher certification in the respective classifications. 2) Emphasis in DPI Code Emotional Behavioral Disabilities preferred. 3) Knowledge of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) strategies and techniques, or willingness to be trained. 4) Ability to team with other special and regular education teachers and support staff to meet the needs of emotional/behavioral disabled students in the least restrictive environment. 5) Understanding of the IEP process and assessment procedures in the area of emotional/behavioral disabilities. 6) Background in the use of supplementary materials to support students in elementary school core curriculum. 7) Knowledge and experience in the utilization of behavior management systems including conducting Functional Behavioral Assessment and designing Behavioral Intervention Plans. 8) Background in the use of social skills training models and interest/attitude scales. 9) Knowledge of techniques, which are successful in working with parents of emotional/behavioral disabled students. 10)Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
