LEEP Forward is seeking a Developmental Relationship-Based Professional with experience working with teens and adolescents on the autism spectrum. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developmental relationship-based work and be able to work independently while also supporting behaviors, including hard but meaningful discussions, complex social interactions, and perspective taking. Some work will may be in a group setting.


LEEP is a multidisciplinary clinic with Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health, Educational, Developmental and Behavioral services, as well as a variety of social groups, including LEEP Forward Therapeutic Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten programming, and Quantum LEEP Academy K-8th Grade Independent Therapeutic School Program. Children enrolled in our programming are between the ages of 3-14 years old with a variety of developmental differences, including autism.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services to teens on the autism spectrum in a group setting
  • Facilitate group activities and support positive social interactions
  • Use a developmental relationship-based approach to build strong, supportive relationships with the teens and their families
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure integrated and effective care
  • Monitor and document progress, ensuring that each teen's individualized goals are met
  • Provide crisis management support as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Mental Health Field, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience working with teens on the autism spectrum
  • Strong background in developmental relationship-based work and an understanding of autism spectrum disorders and their impact on development
  • Experience working with teens with big behaviors and able to support hard discussions and perspective taking
  • Able to work independently while also being a collaborative team member
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience/training utilizing Crisis Intervention Methods, Safety Care Specialist Training preferred.
