Martha O'Bryan Center is an anti-poverty non-profit organization with longstanding history and deep community roots, grounded in tradition and strengthened by innovation. Founded in 1894 when Miss O'Bryan organized the Gleaners Society at First Presbyterian Church to support impoverished North Nashville residents, Martha O'Bryan Center has operated from the heart of Cayce Place - Nashville's most distressed community - since 1948. This is where we continue in service, partnering with Cayce Place families to open doors of hope and possibility, create a culture of attainment, and positively shape future generations. Service members help Martha O'Bryan Center serve more than 12,000 clients each year through a comprehensive continuum of services including early learning education, youth development, job placement, family resources, and social services. This opportunity is for an 11 month AmeriCorps term. Service time is 9 am - 5 pm. You can read more about AmeriCorps at MOBC here: https://mobcamericorps.weebly.com/
Member Duties : Recruit and retain families for current family-centered programs Assist the Family Support team with planning and implementing service and programs for families Conduct intakes in collaboration with family coaches and other Family Support staff Maintain up-to-date progress notes and data utilizing the SalesForce database and organize client files Provide resource information to clients Provide educational information regarding MOBC’s services to families in-person, through social media, and through a newsletter Assist with in-kind donation organization and distribution Support family-centered coaches in organizing and executing special events for clients and community members Collaborate with VISTA Community Engagement and Recreation Specialist to conduct a needs assessment with community members about programming and services Participate in AmeriCorps professional development and community-building workshops
