Position Summary

The quality technician will be involved in set-up and monitoring quality on the production line including weight, x-ray and metal detector checks, verifying finished product meets specification (flavor and appearance, ingredient usage, etc.) and verifying packaging/labeling. Other duties include verification of documents, data entry, and performing finished product testing. The technician will also be responsible for coaching other employees to assure compliance with food safety and GMP standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic line checks to verify metal detection, ingredient usage, weights, etc.
  • Review food safety/quality related documents to ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • Participate in production Pre-Operational Setup procedures.
  • Ensure compliance to quality, food safety and GMP standards.
  • Perform testing of raw milk in accordance with state regulations.
  • Sample and test raw materials and finished product including microbiological testing.
  • Perform environmental swabbing in various locations throughout the facility.
  • Perform allergen testing to verify sanitation effectiveness.
  • Assist in facility audits (GMP, Glass/Brittle Plastic, Sanitation).
  • Data entry and analysis.
  • Work in partnership with all departments to help maintain high quality product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Safety & Quality Manager.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • HACCP Certification
  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be detail oriented and possess intermediate math and reasoning skills.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively apply mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willing and able to work overtime.
  • Prior experience in a related field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
