Job Title: Sanitation WorkerDepartment: Sanitation
Reports to: Sanitation Supervisor
Job Summary: The qualified candidate will work with a variety of equipment to maintain cleanliness of the entire facility. The position consists of routine manual work which requires physical endurance and a willingness to perform manual tasks including working from heights on ladders and scissor lifts. Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule, mandatory overtime as needed and in a variety of weather conditions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize the following areas:
o Production areas
o Walls and Ceilings
o All equipment
o Exterior plant area as needed
- Safely Operate within ten days:
o Fork lift
o Boom lift
o Scissor lift
- Remove trash and debris
- Clean flour and sugar silo areas
- Understand equipment instructions, manuals, specifications, and safety requirements
- Read instruments and record all required data
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas
- Additional duties as assigned
- Knowledge in GMPs and HACCP program
- Must have sufficient reading and writing skills in English in order to comprehend equipment instructions, manuals, and specifications.
- Basic math skills to calculate and measure cleansers/sanitizers
- Must be a self-starter
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organization skills
- Ability to prioritize work schedules
- Ability to lift 55.5 lbs unassisted
- Ability to lift excess of 55.5 lbs up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Ability to stand and walk up to 90% of the time
- Ability to climb and work at large heights
- Ability to work in hot, wet, and/or tight spaces
- Crawling and working on knees and ladders is required
- Ability to work at heights without disorientation
- Must understand and follow all safety policies and procedures
- 18 years of age
- One year of experience working in a sanitation setting preferred
