Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager for Social Services, provides a variety of accounting and support services.
Duties are distributed as appropriate to Account Clerk Job:
Prepares month-end reports as required by Accounting Manager. Prints and distributes reports to various staff.- Generate and enter monthly journal entries.
- Prepares deposits for Treasurers office.
- Process employee training requests
- Maintains agency petty cash accounts.
- Review and analysis of monthly financial reports for accuracy.
- Reconciles trust accounts monthly.
- Assists in preparation of financial reports, budget reports, statistical reports and audit work papers.
- Preparation of provider payrolls including verification of input, data entry to computer system and running payroll.
- Maintenance of billing database and documents and preparation of related correspondence.
- Submit electronic claims for various programs.
- Prepare and process bills, statements, invoices and vouchers weekly for accounts payable.
- Review and submit employee expense reimbursement.
- Review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and county regulations.
- Crossed trained to provide back up to other account clerks.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATION:
- Graduation from an approved two (2) year program in Accounting or equivalent experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 years of work experience including accounting, bookkeeping or billing.
- Prior to hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
1. Possesses good working knowledge of a number or computer software packages to include Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work with databases and learn quickly using a variety of computer applications as tools to perform job. Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including, but not limited to: personal and laptop computer with a variety of software, projector, typewriter, copy machine, multi-line telephone, calculator, and fax machine.
2. Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles. Ability to understand and interpret state and federal policies and procedures as they relate to the job.
3. Strong organization and prioritization skills required with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Maintain flexibility to accommodate requests on short notice, to conform to and meet deadlines, amidst frequent interruptions.
4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Maintain positive behaviors toward coworkers, teams, agency's consumers, their families, general public, and collateral agencies, with a focus on excellence in customer service.
5. Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles.
6. Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.
7. Must have ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
8. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and concise records and reports.
9. Maintain regular and predictable attendance
