ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Development and management of relationships with emphasis on workers compensation referral sources within a defined geographic region or territory for the purpose of referral development.
REFERRAL ASSESSMENT:
- Receive referrals from admissions and referral sources. Gather records; meet with patient and family if present. Meet with medical staff, case manager, social worker, doctor, etc. to gather client info and establish referral rapport.
- Conduct formal client assessment using Moody Neuro assessment and screening tools. Write up the assessment and transmit to Director of Clinical Programs in a timely manner.
- Respond to all referral calls in a timely manner.
- Follow up with clients, referral sources and admissions department to enhance conversion.
- Maintain a tracking and follow-up system for all referral calls and potential referral sources.
REFERRAL DEVELOPMENT FOR MOODY NEURO:
- Performs market research and analysis to identify payors and other funding organizations with greatest potential to fund Moody Neuro programs. Schedules, conducts, and documents 20 face to face calls per week in the Company Hub database of direct referral development calls to referral sources including but not limited to commercial carriers, state agencies, municipalities, self-insured employers and third-party administrators. Contacts may include claims staff, case management and senior management staff.
- Additional calls consist of calling on physicians, social workers, discharge planners, utilization review managers, insurance case managers, etc. Conduct all appropriate follow-up action.
- As needed, may participate in patient conferences and manages payor expectations during all periods of a patient stay including admission, progress and discharge. Interfaces with several Moody Neuro departments to ensure successful delivery of Moody Neuro services including Admissions, Screenings, Case Management and Contracting.
- Familiarity and use of social media networking platforms strongly preferred to enhance networking and conversations with customers.
- Manage a territory and referral base through being a self-starter and organizing time and activities.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records on referral sources, including required information in Company Hub CRM.
- Develop opportunities for professionals, referral sources and family members to tour Moody Neuro's facilities.
- Participate in, as well as promote to referral sources, all Moody Neuro sponsored conferences, seminars and workshops.
QUALIFY MOODY NEURO REFERRAL FACILITIES AND SOURCES:
- Call on facilities in market area to determine viability as referral source.
- Use information to focus resources for maximum referral development impact.
MARKETING:
- Attend conferences and exhibits as determined by the Director.
- Attend personal/professional functions to network with potential referral sources and educate about Moody Neuro.
- Provide CEU presentations to community and facilities in support of Moody Neuro's mission.
GENERAL DEPARTMENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete weekly schedule on Google calendar for access and review by department staff.
- Attend local or state professional meetings that can expand the contact base and bring potential referrals.
- During the day, when in the field or off site, be available by telephone or beeper. Communicate with supervisor, clinical director and admissions department on a regular and frequent basis.
- Keep accurate records of sales calls by entering in CRM database and receipts for tax and reimbursement purposes. Provide these items to the Business Development office on a weekly basis.
- Assists in the preparation of company-wide referral development and marketing strategies.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must demonstrate an ability to acquire knowledge of traumatic brain-injury rehabilitation, workers' compensation and reinsurance markets.
- Ability to prioritize and organize with minimum of supervision.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Lotus, MS Word, Microsoft Excel and a working understanding of CRM databases.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Understanding of general office procedures and telephone etiquette.
- Comfort level with the modern technology required for information management and exchange. This includes computers, smart phones, fax machines, search engines, contact management systems etc.
- Stamina for and willingness to travel and conduct cold calling.
- CPR certification.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university preferred.
Experience:
Two to three years experience in healthcare marketing, referral development, medical services sales preferred. Experience in dealing with major medical and/or catastrophic insurance a plus.
