The Accounting Office within the Division of Finance and Business is growing! We are seeking a part-time Accounting Assistant to assist with various financial transactions. This includes processing purchasing and documenting transactions according to university guidelines and regulations. We’re looking for someone who has strong attention to detail with a people-centered approach to customer service and communication skills. Must be a team player while being able to work independently.
Job Responsibilities: This position will provide clerical and Accounting support for the Accounting Department of South Dakota State University. The duties include answering and directing incoming calls, scanning & filing of documents, the ordering of office supplies, entering invoices for payment as well as data entry into the Banner system.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Computer software and systems (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with data entry
- General accounting practices
- Customer service practices
Skill & Ability to:
- Prioritize and organize a variety of tasks simultaneously and effectively.
- Perform data entry with high speed and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, and outside agencies.
- Communicate information clearly, concisely, and accurately, both verbally and in writing.
