What Qualifications we looking for?
- High school diploma
- Accounting experience, preferably as an Accounting Clerk, Accounting Assistant or Accounts payable clerk
- Automated accounting software experience with Timberline, Sage, Timberscan
- Rent Manager experience preferred, 1-3 years
- Experience on Timberline or other multi-module accounting software
- Microsoft Office skills required: Excel, Word, Outlook
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to read, write and understand English and have good verbal and written communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and interpret the data
- Familiarity with bookkeeping, financial reports, and basic accounting procedures

Job Description
This position ensures that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively by performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Accounting Clerk responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports, running accounting software programs (e.g. Timberline, Timberscan, Rent Manager) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements as needed
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner, as needed
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions, as needed
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Reconcile credit card statements
- Oversee and perform daily tasks in Rent Manager
- Processes accounts payable,
- Processes NSF checks and maintains all records pertaining to NSF checks
- Enters cash deposits and processes payout slips
- Balances cash drawer and processes bank deposits
Accounts Payable: May assist or manage any of the following
- Accounts payable files, including all pertinent information such as company coding, general ledger coding, asset file maintenance through check issuance
- Remit payment for invoices, check requests and inter-company disbursements timely
- Tracking expenditures for budgets
- Process data entry for accounts payable information into accounting software
- Journal entries of electronic remittance for accounts payable invoices
- Excel spreadsheets to upload the weekly payroll transactions into the accounting software by set deadline
- Records adjustment entries in the general ledger at the end of each month to record negative draw balances
- Assist with preparation of the annual UNICAP schedule for third party tax accountant
- Review annual accounts payable and cross references to insure invoices are retained
- Create and issue 1099’s as needed
- Responds to inquiries from employees or members of the management team
- Reconciles monthly benefit invoices to payroll deductions
General
- Performs all duties in compliance with Company standards, policies, and directives
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all co-workers and vendors
