Job Description
Dakota County Technical College seeks an Unlimited Full-Time Accounting Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Dakota County Technical College are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. Examples of Duties:
  • Provide instruction using a variety of modalities (including online, hybrid, hyflex, and face-to-face instruction) to students who are pursuing a degree or diploma in the Accounting Program.
  • Instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to: instructional planning, curriculum development, student evaluation and records, student recruitment and retention, student advising and placement, classroom/climate preparation and management, interpersonal relations, promote safety in all aspects of program activities, purchase supplies and equipment, participate in professional development experiences, work as an effective team member of the department, maintenance of professional skills and credentials, maintain relevancy with new/emerging course delivery methods, and participate on college committees.

Required Qualifications
Education Requirement
  • Master’s degree in accounting or a master’s degree in any field with a minimum of 16 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in accounting or
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a CPA or CMA certificate.


Occupational Experience Requirement
  • Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in accounting.

Recency Requirement
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • The ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.

Founded in 1970 Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) is a public, two-year technical college in Rosemount, Minnesota. DCTC offers about 150 programs that range from an AA, to a degree in pluming. DCTC will allows students the possibility to go right into work force after graduation. Students who graduate from DCTC gave a 90% chance of getting a job after graduation.

DCTC has over 2,000 students, and a very diverse culture. Students of color make up about 20 percent of the population. 35.2 percent of students are low income and eligible for Pell grants. Dakota County Technical College is a public two-year institution of higher education dedicated to the philosophy that there is dignity in all work and value in individual growth and learning. Benefits Info
Salary: Full time faculty salaries currently range from $40,912 – $85,892 annually. Salary is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2021-2023 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.

Depending on credit load, the State of Minnesota offers:
