ROLE PURPOSE

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the month-end closing process, generating accurate and timely financial statements and managing all Accounts Payable functions.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

· Supervise accounts payable staff ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments (20%).
· Assign duties and examine work for conformance to policies and procedures including the standardization of procedures. (10%)
· Review, develop, and continuously improve all accounts payable processes to ensure the optimization of efficiency and accuracy. (1.0%)
· Prepare, review, and obtain approval on all weekly payment runs and ensure each run fits within the constraints of the weekly cash forecast. (6.0%)
· Supervise accounts payable staff in the p rocessing and application of all supplier payments. (6.0%)
· Process, review, approve, and coordinate the reimbursement of employee expenses using Concur. (3.0%)
· Ensure accuracy of all vendor master data. (1.0%)
· Manage sales tax return process using Avalara including Canadian returns. (10%)
· Review all tax notices and address accordingly (1.0%)
· Month end processing, including processing journal entries, analyzing account balances for accuracy, preparing variance analyses, r econcile and review various balance sheet accounts to their subledgers. (20%)
· Perform monthly variance analysis on the income statement versus approved budget . (1.0%)
· Complete annual 1099 reporting. (1.0%)
· Reconcile monthly equipment revenue and COGS to ensure proper matching (5.0%).
· Assist in quarterly and annual financial and internal control audits as well as continuous review of tasks and processes to ensure internal control (J-Sox) and policies and procedures compliance. (10%)
· Assist on various projects as assigned from the Vice President of Finance. (5%)

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university
· CPA preferred

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of experience is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Practical knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards along with Accounts Payable practices is required. Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to effectively present data to peers and senior management. Proficient in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills. Experience with NetSuite and/or JD Edwards is preferred.
