Join a thriving young entrepreneurial company looking to secure an Accounting & Finance Specialist to assist with the basic accounting functions for a portfolio of modern apartments in the Columbus area. We are seeking a passionate, organized, and experienced or trainable individual to work with and support the Finance and Leasing teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a current accounting or finance student seeking practical application of accounting and finance methods centered around investment real estate.
Prospective applications can be trained for the position but ideally have a basic understanding of accounting, computer skills, great organizational skills, and the willingness to learn and grow with our team.
Core Responsibilities
Assist in daily and monthly accounting procedures as assigned by Director of Finance to include:
- month-end close and reporting
- property budgeting and forecasting
- general ledger maintenance
- bank and credit card reconciliations
- accounts payable and vendor management
- accounts receivable
- recording of escrows, capital expenditures, depreciation, and equity contributions/distributions
- processing of security deposits, tax requirements, and banking transactions.
- Assist the Director of Finance with detailed financial analysis and assigned department projects.
- Assist in creating and providing useful financial analysis to the Stratagem Management leadership team.
- Utilize technology in a forward-thinking manner to continue driving new business efficiencies and investor solutions.
- Administrative tasks as assigned including processing mail, filing, scanning and maintaining online accounting records.
Details of your employment terms are as follows:
- Your hourly pay will be $15 - $20 per hour paid bi-weekly.
- Minimum 15 hours per week. Must be able to work three (3) 5-hour shifts, Monday – Friday. Prefer nonconsecutive days (i.e., Tuesday/Thursday). Will be flexible with qualified candidates and students as course schedule changes. As position develops there is the potential for increased hours up to a Maximum

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Capable of performing duties without constant monitoring and supervision.
- Knowledgeable in the areas necessary to be successful in this position.
