GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Primary focus is to enhance the lives of our residents and staff through creating opportunities that enrich mind, body, and spirit. Responsible for meeting all Generations Vitality program standards. Communicates the Vitality philosophy and the benefits of participating to staff and residents both verbally and by example.
SCOPE OF JOB TASKS:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement evidence-based activity and wellness programs to address the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual needs of the residents. Includes planning of special events as part of a comprehensive Vitality program for all residents of the community.
- Focus on enhancing lives of staff members through Vitality moments and activities that include all aspects of wellness.
- Assist the Executive Director in carrying out assigned action plans of the Vitality program. Complete all assigned tasks accurately and on time. Keep Executive Director well-informed regularly regarding any issues or concerns.
- Participate in sales process with Sales and Marketing team through Vitality program outreach and communication with prospective residents and the surrounding community.
- Assist in Vitality portion of Quality Enhancement audit preparation, completion, and correction as directed.
- Accountable for organization, inventory, safety and cleanliness of the Vitality areas, including all equipment and supplies.
- Develop and maintain an on-going relationship with the residents and staff alike through consistent and authentic communication. Request feedback from residents and staff regarding Vitality programming and utilize information to develop person-centered activities.
- Responsible for assisting the Executive Director in maintaining the monthly Vitality budget which may include reporting, approval process, and decision making. Demonstrate good stewardship in use of supplies and equipment.
- Manage Vitality staff schedule and ensure staffing for evening and weekend activities.
- Maintain professional personal appearance and adhere to dress code as outlined in the employee manual or as specified by the Executive Director. Ensure that all Vitality contractors and volunteers maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Develop and ensures distribution of Vitality calendars, schedules and newsletters. Coordinate with all staff with clear communication regarding Vitality activities.
- Adhere to and support established HR policies and procedures. Assist the Executive Director in recruitment, orientation, and supervision of Vitality Assistants and independent contractors.

JOB SPECIFICATION:
Education and Experience
- Associates degree in therapeutic recreation, health education or activity professional program preferred.
- Minimum 1-year related experience in activities and/or wellness with older adults. Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral directions
- Current CPR certification, or to be completed within 30 days of hire.
Skills, knowledge and Abilities:
- Maintains knowledge of current wellness trends and research to promote a cutting-edge Vitality program
- Ability to read, write, communicate and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.
- Ability to motivate others and encourage participation in meaningful activities.
- Functions as a team member and demonstrates leadership abilities
- Computer competency required including Microsoft Office
- Must be able to work well and cooperate with others.
- Ability to communicate with empathy and compassion
- Ability to speak in public and articulate ideas clearly
- Must be passionate about wellness and life enrichment for older adults
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.05 - $22.25 per hour
