SUMMER ACTIVITY LEADER

POSITION OVERVIEW
- Full-time summer employment from mid June – beginning of August
- Free on-campus room & board
- Responsible for student safety and programming in Los Angeles County, New York metropolis, or Miami County
- Conducts walking tours and bus tours of sights and attractions
- Provide entertainment for high school students ranging from afternoon sports to nightly dance parties
- Expect to work 30 to 45 hours per week, depending on number of students enrolled

MLA (Move Language Ahead) is an industry leader in providing safe, educational, and cultural vacations to students from around the world. Each year thousands of students travel with MLA as part of our short-term English as a second language (ESL) programs. Along with our proprietary ESL curriculum, we also provide our students with great excursions featuring some of the most popular historical and tourist destinations across the country.
The MLA Activity Leader is a full-time, seasonal position (mid-June through mid-August) with MLA Move Language Ahead. The Activity Leader works under the direct supervision of the MLA Activity Manager, Campus Administrator, and Center Director. Activity Leaders are hired to reside on campus and monitor the safety and well-being of international high school students attending a cultural immersion program. They will be expected to provide excellent customer service to the group leaders who are considered the most important client. While on campus the Activity Leaders will be asked to provide entertainment for the students ranging from afternoon sports activities to nightly dance parties and other various activities. Activity Leaders must be prepared to guide students on local and regional excursions and provide information about the attractions they are exploring.
All employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start of the contract unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. Newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.

SCHEDULE
Activity Leaders are required to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the program to include a variety of day, night, and weekend shifts. Activity Leaders are required to reside on campus in MLA-provided housing for the duration of the program. Activity Leaders will also participate in rotating nightly on-call responsibilities.
