Position: Administrative Medical Assistant
PROGRAM: Outpatient Mental Health Clinic
EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Medical assistant will perform routine clinical and administrative duties under the direct supervision of a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or other mental health care professional.
Scheduled Duties:
- Manage incoming and outgoing calls
- Create and maintain client charts in the EHR
- Schedule and maintain appointments and clinical staff schedule
- Assist with appointments reminders and follow-ups, etc.
- Distribute chart audit documents to staff
- Document all correspondence in EHR
- Obtain historical data for new clients
- Maintain and complete client requested documents/insurance forms
- Educate treatment plans and medication management to client
- Record vital signs as needed
- Collect and prepare lab forms as needed
- Authorize medication refills and telephone prescriptions to pharmacy as directed
- Input client information into EMR to activate, provide needed data, and/or discharge clients
- Provide census and data reports from the EMR as requested
- Document all correspondence in EHR
- Research and assist in absolving program authorization issues from Medical Assistance
- Maintain, update, and distribute staff tracking sheets, lists, etc
- preform other administrative duties ad needed
SKILLS:
- Effective written, oral communication skills and interpersonal abilities
- Familiarity with office management procedures
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Google Workspace
- Navigation of EHR systems
- Coordination of services
- Collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team
EXPERIENCE:
- AA Degree or equivalent experience
- Office Administration: 2 years
- Customer service: 3 years
- Medical Terminology : 2years

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
