This position is in Salary Grade 210, with a minimum salary of $16.48 per hour. The successful candidate’s salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range.

General Description
This position will assist the director and coordinate the establishment and delivery of adult education services across the Northeast Community College 20-county region. The coordinator supervises English as a Second Language (ESL)/IELCE instructors and volunteer coordinators. Teaching subjects in the basic skills areas is required as assigned by the Director of Adult Education. The coordinator will develop new courses and basic skills curriculum as needed.
This is accomplished by maintaining requisite office hours; providing academic advisement to students; working with the director on new and existing programming; serve on state committees related to adult education; attending meetings; participating in professional development activities; and performing all instructional-related activities as directed within the policies, procedures, and guidelines of Northeast Community College.

Qualifications: Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required or willingness to attain required degree.

Over one year up to and including three years in the adult education field.

The purpose of this position is to instruct classes and labs as assigned by the Director of Adult Education and to develop new courses. This is accomplished by maintaining requisite office hours; providing academic advisement to students; adapting instruction to individual needs; overseeing changes to the program by adjusting program levels; serving as coordinator for WIOA partnership activities; conducting and coordinating professional development opportunities for all ESL staff; serving on state committees; attending meetings; participating in professional development activities; and performing all instructional-related activities as directed within the policies, guidelines, and regulations of Northeast Community College.
The position will serve as lead instructor by providing guidance on curriculum requirements to program instructional staff and supervise ESL personnel. This position will provide support at all Extended Campus locations, assist with testing for noncredit programming across the 20-county region, and provide instruction during summer months.
