Summary:
The Advertising Production Manager supports the advertising sales team across all 20+ news brands in the Prairie Mountain Media (PMM) footprint in the achievement of revenue goals and the retention of clients. The position supports the advertising team to ensure accurate fulfillment of advertising for a variety of different media platforms and client satisfaction and contributes to the efficient operation of the advertising department. This position plays an essential role in quality control and meeting all production-related deadlines.
What you will do:

Manage the Advertising Production Coordinator. Note: the manager must have working knowledge and ability to execute all responsibilities of the coordinator position

Ensure the employee is meeting all expectations and responsibilities of the position
-
Back up the position as needed on a daily basis as well as covering for the employee during PTO, furlough schedules or when the position is open
-
Manage relationship with Affinity, PMM’s third-party design team, including day-to-day communications, product setup, troubleshooting, training, etc.

Manage PMM white-glove accounts with design and/or execution of print and digital ads and publications
-
Support production of advertising sections, magazines and niche products including production/design/layout, ordering press runs, scheduling insertions, shipping pages/covers, setting up Affinity, etc.

Ship files for commercial print jobs including print-and-deliver advertising jobs and section gloss covers

Manage insert jackets, including collecting art and shipping pages

Manage all solo mail jobs from start to finish including list management, printing, production and billing
-
Update solo mail rate cards based on printing and/or USPS rate increases

Manage Impact Notes from start to finish, printing, digital fulfillment, ordering and billing

Update rate cards regularly based on vendor rate increases and circulation changes

Participate as a leader in all production-related system changes and conversions

Serve as the leader in all production-related communication with PMM advertising and news staff and Denver and Berthoud layout and production teams

Support digital ad ops team with display scheduling, fulfillment and billing

Meet all deadlines in support of production deadlines

Cover for teammates as needed

Train and mentor new team members, including advertising sales consultants

Organize work for easy fill-in by teammates

Attend and participate in department trainings and meetings

Perform other duties as requested by management
What you will bring:

Computer proficiency including working knowledge of the Adobe suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat) to support the functions of this position

Proficiency in Google Workspace products

Strategically prioritize, respond to changing issues, cope with the unexpected and achieve results with tight deadlines every work day

College degree or equivalent in work experience

One-year of advertising coordination/traffic management

Graphic design experience is a must

The annual salary range is $45,000 - $52,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. This role is eligible for a bonus based on performance. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
