Duties
With detailed instructions provided, assists journeyman trade mechanics in servicing, maintaining, repairing and repair, overhauling assembly, and aircraft engines. Duties include but are not limited to: assists mechanics with disassembly, cleaning, inspection, maintenance of mechanical parts of aircraft components according to detailed maintenance, repair procedures, and machines, instructions; parts, furnishing equipment, materials, aircraft, tools and and assemblies supplies; with lifts and solvents holds or other materials in cleaning place solutions; during as jacking instructed; and cleans towing areas, aircraft; tools, inflating tires; plugs, equipment fills tires, pre tanks batteries and and post other and flight; filters; reservoirs and completes with disconnects proper related fluids instruments, (i.e. maintenance ignition gasoline, records oil, systems, and and and greases); fuel documentation; and adjusts oil and and lines. may As replaces assist instructed, parts preparing such removes as aircraft spark and inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floor boards and related items to provide access for inspection and repair, and replaces when work is completed.
Clears debris from grounds and cleans hangar floors by sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing. Maintains inventory of tools and keeps tools and equipment in clean working order. Gathers and disposes of trash. Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage. Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
Performs standard maintenance tasks in the upkeep and operation of facility equipment and the disposal and management of hazardous chemicals and waste program. Collects, segregates, and transports hazardous waste from generation points to the hazardous waste disposal facility. Performs general clerical and administrative related work in support of the operation. Maintains files, delivers and picks up distribution and aircraft parts. Assist administrative support staff as instructed. Performs other incidental related duties.
Physical Effort: Requires considerable and frequent standing, bending, stooping, crawling, and working on and under small aircraft, uncomfortable positions or from work stands and/or hard to reach places. Frequently in lifts tight parts spaces and which equipment may be that tiring weigh and up to 40 lbs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in maintenance and repair of powered ( diesel or gasoline) engines or related occupational work. Experience must have provided a knowledge of and ability to removal, replace, clean, and install parts, assemblies or any of their components and parts; determine when parts should be cleaned and reinstalled or replaced; skill in using basic tools; and read and interpret parts and repair manuals. Must have knowledge of tools, including their designs, uses, benefits. Must have ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and retain information provided. Must be able to lift, bend, and work in awkward positions both indoors and outdoors, for long periods. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs and heavier with assistance. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check With Inquires (NACI). Must have experience in scheduling and dispatch of general aviation aircraft. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employ drug test.
Education
