Position as a Product Configuration and Change Controller for the APM Vehicle Train Design Engineering team located in Pittsburgh, PA, LCS site reporting to the APM Product Configuration and Change Control Manager.
The purpose of this position is to drive and monitor the APM vehicle documentation configuration and associated scope of activities and deliverables related to the Configuration and Change Management process. This will include insuring documentation flows (correspondences, documents, drawings, BOMs, etc.) with conformity of the rules defined for the products used on various APM platform vehicles. Responsible for keeping configurations of multiple APM Product Platforms projects under control during the entire vehicle life cycle.
OBJECTIVES
- You shall work in a product / project organization and in a context of international contracts.
- You are an APM Product Configuration and Change Controller (PrCCC) insuring the related standards, tools, procedures, instructions, templates, etc. are properly used by team members and not bypassed.
- You will network with all APM Vehicle Engineering teams and other groups such as the various Project teams, Methods, Manufacturing, Quality and Purchasing departments.
- In addition, you may be asked to support Customer meetings and reviews with support of the Project team as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITES
Under the supervision of the PrCCM and other senior team members.
- Identifies, verifies the items to be put under configuration control (Configuration Items and/or Target Items).
- Creates and maintains the Configuration Item List and/or the Target Item List for Configuration Baselines.
- Prepares and publishes the Configuration Baselines and/or Target Configuration Releases as planned.
- Insures that configuration data is recorded and documented, monitoring its compliance.
- Deviations from Configuration Baseline Types and the Target Configurations shall be investigated and inconsistencies shall be documented and managed, e.g. by waiver, concession, required changes.
- Prepares, extracts and communicates Configuration Status Accounting Report.
- Facilitate the electrical event management and transfer when necessary into the Change Management Process.
- Follow-up the field modifications for all parts of the APM.
- Provide the sub-system target configuration data to management.
- Is the facilitator of the Change Boards, monitoring Change requests and related activities.
- Coordinates and aligns all the project stakeholders regarding the changes.
- Coordinates to ensure the completeness, correctness, clarity and timeline of Change Requests in cooperation with the Change requestor from preparation to Approval to Implementation and Closure.
- Prioritizes Change Requests in cooperation with requestor and other functions by Assignment to Baseline and/or Target Configuration.
- Provides Configuration and Change Management reporting and indicators (Key Performance Indicators) for APSYS input and at managements request.
- Escalates any CCM related issues in the Project/Program to the PrCCM and/or the respective supervisor and proposes possible solution.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in any of Engineering/Project Management/Business Management or equivalents.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCES
- Basic knowledge of Configuration and Change Management.
- Basic knowledge in Business Process Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Supply Chain, Engineering and/or Industrialization.
- Knowledge of configuration and change processes and related APM processes.
- Fluent English language skills.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in configuration and change role.
- Basic experiences in working in an international environment.

- Knowledge of the Alstom standard information systems of the digital chain (PDM, SAP, Change Tools, CAPL, etc.).
- Able to communicate with all involved stakeholders.
