The Irvin E. Houck Center for Information Technology at Oberlin College seeks a self-motivated and collaborative candidate to join our staff as an
analyst/programmer. This is a full-time, remote work eligible, Administrative and Professional Staff position, reporting to the Director of Administrative Computing Services (ACS).
Responsibilities
The position incumbent is responsible for a wide range of technical and end user support for the College’s enterprise-wide information systems, across various administrative functions of the institution. Primary responsibilities include: user support; troubleshooting and problem resolution; development of approved Oberlin-specific software modifications or extensions through the lifecycle from analysis, development/documentation of specifications, coding, user acceptance testing, and final sign-off; technical and functional knowledge and support for relevant software products; collegial and proactive communication with functional area staff; development of integrations between software systems in alignment with best practices for security and tools. Operational and strategic report development.
Essential Job Functions
The job is focused on the ongoing support of one or more of the following modules of our Oracle-based enterprise resource planning system (ERP), Banner®: human resources, student, financial aid, finance, accounts receivable, and associated web-based self-service modules. Key ancillary software includes OnBase document management/workflow, Anthology Reach CRM (locally branded as Engage), Chrome River, Jaggaer, TopDesk, EMS, PeopleAdmin, Time Clock Plus, and Presence. The incumbent is expected to support end-users using analytical, methodical, and systemic thinking, working to align business process, technology, and strategy in conjunction with day-to-day support of enterprise applications, business intelligence, data integrations, and integrated service platforms.
The incumbent will design, code/configure, test, and document custom process solutions as deemed necessary, using college-determined standard tools and systems development best practices. The incumbent will actively participate in the evaluation, implementation, development and operation of highly available applications and systems and associated integration with other administrative information systems and related technologies. This position is responsible for all of the functions associated with managing assigned projects.

Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree or equivalent education and experience in computer programming, systems/database analysis and architecture
- Two years programming experience in an enterprise-wide or division-wide complex business environment with proven skills in SQL and/or PL/SQL
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality deliverables that meet functional specifications on time
- Working knowledge of relational database systems (preferably Oracle)
- Willingness to learn and assume either primary or back-up responsibilities of any ERP module or ancillary software
- A broad understanding of administrative applications and business processes
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated team-oriented work style, flexibility, and a strong service orientation
- Demonstrated ability to work with end users to assess needs, define and document technical requirements/specifications, and propose technical solutions that add value to the business process, department, or organization
- A positive and flexible attitude to challenges and ability to prioritize and manage a heavy workload

Desired Qualifications
- Broad experience in enterprise-wide information systems, preferably in a higher education environment
- Demonstrated success in assisting diverse enterprise divisions in their strategic and operational use of information systems.
- Knowledge and experience with Ellucian’s Banner® ERP system, ODS, and/or Workflow
- Experience with Argos or other report-writing tool
- Familiarity with Automic job scheduler
- Experience with any general scripting language (such as Javacript, Perl)
- Familiarity with any REST APIs
Compensation
Within the range established for this Administrative and Professional Staff position, salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This position would have the opportunity to work a hybrid work schedule.
