We are currently searching for a dynamic Application Engineer – General Industry Applications to support applications for material handling robots. This role will focus on applications including picking, packing, palletizing, small part assembly, and general material handling for various markets including food and beverage, medical and pharmaceutical, consumer goods, and electronics.

This position will require the engineer to define the requirements for new products to fit these market opportunities, support the introduction of the new products and provide product and application support for products with Integrators and End Customers once they have been introduced.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Drive the market acceptance and sales of FANUC robots by:
  • Leading evaluation of new and innovative applications and features
  • Demonstrating unique adaptions of available features and options to solve automation problems
• Support opportunities for new robotic products, robotic process solutions or required modifications to existing robotic products, distribution or robotic systems execution
• Support developing specifications for new robotic products, such as robots, software / hardware
• Develop and execute test plans, support in developing marketing tools, pricing recommendations, identify and support beta / lead robotic users and other activities required as a part of a successful product / application introduction
• Evaluate the feasibility of new robotic applications, develop & prove potential / growing applications
• Provide customer demonstrations, develop trade show displays, support proposal development and related activities required to successfully apply our robots, software and control packages and robotic applications
• Support in-field application support as required for FANUC integrators and end customers in both robot and system related areas
• Identify product / application concerns and limitations and manage the resolution of all critical issues
• Execute small development efforts or support our internal development groups in the execution of larger development efforts
• Some travel with overnight stays is required with infrequent extended stays

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
• Demonstrated capability in robot programming
• Either through education and/or work experience have developed and demonstrated an ability to identify and define problems or needs, define plans to address those problems or needs, and successfully manage the execution of the developed plan
• Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes
