Arrow Technician Academy begins June 1.

Arrow Academy is more than a job. Apply now for the upcoming class beginning June 1. Arrow Ford, in partnership with Cisco College, Collegiate Edu-Nation, and the members of the Abilene Automotive Education Alliance (Lawrence Hall, Star Dodge, Lithia Toyota, and Proctor Automotive) are offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity to join the automotive industry. Twenty-five students will be accepted into the program and will receive no-cost (grant funded) tuition for classes through Cisco College featuring Virtual Reality technical training. Students will then put their training into practice at Arrow Ford or other partner service departments through a paid apprenticeship program. Upon completion of this program, you will have the knowledge, skills, and certifications to perform light duty vehicle maintenance in any repair facility around the country. And from there, you can continue to grow into your career as a technician with significant earning potential.

At Arrow, we don't believe in the "Sink or Swim" method of hiring and training. Our in-house technical trainer and Cisco College Adjunct Professor, Beau Sessums, will lead our Arrow Academy students through training from novice to certified technician. Skills Learned

• General vehicle inspection
• Equipment familiarity and safety procedures
• Basic vehicle maintenance including oil and fluid changes, tire inspection and rotations, battery testing, brake service, etc.
• Understanding of vehicle systems and problem identification
• Electrical diagnosis tools and testing

Qualifications

• Interest in automotive and mechanical aptitude
• Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Ability to master electronic diagnostic equipment
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass all pre-employment testing including background and drug screening

Arrow Ford is a Registered Apprenticeship Program through the Department of Labor and has a partnership with Cisco College and Collegiate Edu-Nation to offer coursework and training for automotive technicians.
