Job description
FUNCTION: The Asphalt Entry Level Team member is responsible for performing general labor duties on construction or paving projects.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Visualizes and implements the Clyde Companies, Inc. vision and core values.
- Work with a safety mindset and strive to keep others safe.
- Rake and shovel asphalt.
- Operate a roller and plate compactor.
- Dump windrows from belly and double belly trucks.
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
- Maintain a clean worksite and clean up job site at end of shift.
- Help prepare grades for paving.
- Help other team members lay out jobs.
- Clean, maintain, and keep track of hand tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of asphalt paving procedures or the ability to learn.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with asphalt paving is a plus but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work long hours (10-14 hour days) in outside conditions
- Able to pick up and move at least 50 lbs.
