Position Summary

Performs a variety of operations to assemble and test valves within at least 75% of the work cells of a value stream according to product specifications and quality standards. Achieves production goals to deliver on time, high-quality products to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble valves without instruction and only limited supervision in at least 75% of the work cell within the value stream.
  • Meet productivity targets for assigned cells.
  • Train new and current employees, and temporary workers on assembly processes and standard work.
  • Follow guidelines to assure proper set up for assembly and the actual assembly of product.
  • Inspect and test each product produced to assure it meets quality standards.
  • Pack product for shipping.
  • Apply standard operating procedures to complete work assignments thoroughly and accurately; identify and correct errors and pay attention to details.
  • Work with the cell team to meet or exceed production standards; complete work in a timely manner; plan and prioritize work.
  • Follow safety and 5S guidelines; maintain a clean and organized work area and used good safety judgment.
  • Understand ISO procedures and know where appropriate documentation is kept.
  • Share input in team improvement board and High Performance Team meetings.
  • Build, test, and calibrate prototypes for Engineering.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment, assembly required
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to follow written/verbal instructions and directions in English.
  • Learns and maintains required skill and proficiency to successfully accomplish full job responsibilities; willingly takes on new assignments.
  • Able to work proficiently (at least 3/4 dot on Skills Matrix) in 75% of the cells in the value stream and perform the most complex processes.
  • May interface with Engineering on new product development.
  • Technical troubleshooting with a high sense of independence
  • Teamwork, Communication and Interpersonal Skillls
