Youth Facility Supervisor 2 – Assistant Camp Director

Join OYA at Camp Florence as an Assistant Camp Director (Youth Facility Supervisor 2) to manage the daily operations and logistics of a 24/7 youth transitional facility. This work study program in Florence houses up to 20 youth typically ages 17 to 24.
Key Duties of the Assistant Camp Director:
- Problem solve difficulties within the facility to ensure campus operations run smoothly.
- Develop and monitor unit schedules to ensure coverage for campus supervision.
- Serve as Acting Superintendent in the absence of the Superintendent to perform the essential responsibilities of direction and management of the operations and delivery of services at the facility.
Additional Position Information:
- This position is part of the state’s management team
- This position supervises a workforce that is represented by a union
- Starting yearly salary for new state employees expected to begin between $60,948 - $70,500.
What We Are Looking For:
Minimum Qualifications
- Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience;
OR
- One year of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Required Skills/Licenses
- A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required. Driving is an essential function of this position and we will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s)

Working Conditions:
Must be able to work under the following conditions with or without reasonable accommodations:
- All OYA locations are tobacco-free environments.
- Employees are subject to recall during facility emergencies. May deal with angry and hostile family members and visitors.
- Daily contact with youth and others who may exhibit hostile, assaultive behavior. This position is expected to enforce rules and may need to physically restrain youth.
- Maybe subject to a hostage situation.
- There is potential exposure to communicable diseases. The consistent and effective use of appropriate infection-control materials and techniques is required.
- Travel is required to attend meetings, participate on committees, and transport youth as needed.

Pre-employment Checks:
In keeping with our mission, OYA will conduct a criminal records check, per OAR 416 Division 800, a driving record background check and a vulnerable population abuse and neglect check. Information obtained about an individual is confidential. In 2003 Congress passed the Prison Rape Elimination Act(PREA), the first federal civil statue focused specifically on addressing sexual violence in juvenile facilities, jails, prisons, and other facilities. In recognition of the rights, safety, and well-being of the youth we serve you will be asked specific questions about your background to ensure our hiring and promotion practices comply with the National PREA standards.
All OYA employees are required to submit to a two-step TB test to establish a TB free "base line." If offered employment and you accept, OYA will offer you the TB testing, and if you refuse, OYA will require the necessary documentation from your personal health care provider as a condition of employment.
All positions in OYA will require the incumbent to serve as a "mandatory reporter" of child abuse.
