Job Description Summary
The School of Kinesiology is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our faculty as a non-tenure track (12-month appointment; renewable) Assistant Clinical Professor. The applicant should have teaching expertise in one or more areas within exercise and sport science.

- Provide high-quality instruction, participate in course and curricular design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation.
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Prescription & Performance, Motor Behavior and/or Development, and/or other courses as assigned (Typical course load is 12 credits per semester, but may be higher).
- Provide an inclusive and equitable educational environment
- Master’s level advising may be assigned.
- Complete administrative duties as assigned.
Additional responsibilities include recruiting students, supervising undergraduate and graduate research, and providing service to the School, College, University, community, and professional organizations.
The School of Kinesiology’s mission is to discover, implement, and disseminate knowledge about physical activity, movement, exercise, health, and performance by engaging with our community and creating an invigorating learning environment for our students. In Spring 2013, the School of Kinesiology moved into a new “state of the art” building as the sole occupant. Serving as the home for over 700 undergraduate students and over 80 graduate students, the School of Kinesiology doctoral program is ranked in the top 13 in the United States (National Academy of Kinesiology Review and Evaluation of Doctoral Programs, 2020). The School of Kinesiology is also committed to cultivating professionals who will contribute to our society through impactful and meaningful research, service, teaching, and outreach endeavors, and includes several world-renowned faculty members ranked in the top 20%, according to the Public Library of Science (Ioannidis et al (2019) https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pbio.3000384). As a partner of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS), Auburn University’s School of Kinesiology actively participates in multiple training programs, professional development resources, and funding mechanisms offered by the CCTS. In 2025, the School of Kinesiology will admit students into its inaugural cohort of a newly launched Physical Therapy program. Detailed information may be obtained from our website.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Earned doctorate in Kinesiology or related field at the time of employment.
- Demonstrated excellence of university teaching in one or more areas within exercise and sport science.
- Demonstrated excellence in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and collegiality.
The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
