Eklego is proud to be assisting Shaker Place with their search for an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in Albany, NY.

This community promotes an individualized care philosophy to help make aging easier. Their teams include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants and social workers. They partner with you, your loved ones and your doctor to develop and administer a personalized care plan that includes nursing care, pastoral care and dining services.

The Assistant Director of Nursing provides supervision and guidance to Nurse Managers as well as resident assessment and completion of all associated paperwork required by state and federal regulations governing the resident assessment process. Be knowledgeable in data collection, data analysis methodology, and performance improvement methods needed to support and lead performance improvement projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required (Registered Nurse). Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the NY State Board of Nursing required.
  • Two years geriatric experience preferred.
  • CPR certification (prior to or upon employment).
  • Previous experience working in long-term care required.
  • Current knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to long term care facilities preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge and typing skills preferred.
  • Attention to detail and high degree to accuracy required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in planning and development of education, policies and procedures and other necessary action plans as it relates to restorative nursing.
  • Creates and updates resident specific care plans in the computer and hard copy as applicable. Print and place with the appropriate record and communicate changes to the neighborhood staff.
  • Using the computer system, communicates necessary information to team members.
  • Attends unit stand up meetings to discuss changes in condition and significant events.. Attends continuing education programs. Attends staff meetings when needed to provide education.
  • Practices fiscal responsibility in the use of supplies, equipment and time management.
  • Responsible parties, the Director of Nursing, other health care professionals and facility departments.
  • Performs direct resident care during emergent situations.
  • Work closely with assigned Nurse Managers to assure DOH compliance is maintained on those assigned neighborhoods. Communicate regularly with DON keeping her informed of activities, progress, and challenges on those assigned neighborhoods.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
