POSITION: Assistant Group Leader
Monessen, PA Child Care
Our Child Care centers provide day programming, Monday through Friday, for pre-school children, Pre-K services and after school services for elementary school age children.
An Assistant Group Leader will assist in implementing the prescribed daily program activities for the enrollees of the childcare centers. As an Assistant Group Leader your will conduct program activities and coordinate daily activities in the absence of the Group Leader/Teacher. In addition, the Assistant Group Leader will assist the parents of our program, initiate emergency procedures, when necessary, and maintain cleanliness and order of the centers. Our team is made up of dedicated professionals whose main goal is to provide encouragement and support to all our childcare enrollees.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education with one year experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of certification, experience and skill may be considered at the discretion of the Agency or Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Completion of at least two years of postsecondary study with a minimum of 60 Credits.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement job descriptions, Department of Human Services regulations SPHS, Inc. philosophies, policies, and procedures, and Keystone STARS and PA Pre-K Counts requirements.
- Must successfully obtain Criminal History Clearance from the Pennsylvania State Police and Child Abuse Clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and FBI Fingerprint Clearances and National Sex Offender Registry Clearance.
- Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid, or any other healthcare program.
- Ability to do light housekeeping
- Ability to interact with children by walking, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, and jumping indoors, outdoors, and on field trips.
- Ability to effectively use deescalating techniques and assist with effective child management as necessary.
- Successful completing of required employment physical.
