Position Title: Assistant Pastor

Type: Full-Time

Position Responsibilities:

· Work closely with Senior Pastor in leading the church congregation into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ

· Coordinate and oversee various ministries and associated leaders within the church including but not limited to:

- Small Groups

- Missions

- Student/Children Ministries

- Special Church and Community Events

· Be willing and ready to assist the Senior Pastor in preaching, discipling, meeting with people, and whatever else required to fulfill the vision of the Senior Pastor

· At the direction of the Senior Pastor, work directly with the Business Manager to track monthly financial and business activities

· Assist Senior Pastor with administrative and operational day-to-day responsibilities such as overseeing facility upkeep, maintenance, etc.

· Report directly to the Senior Pastor

· Can be combined with a Worship Pastor position

Character and Personal Qualifications

· Strong and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ

· Commitment to Island Community Church, its Statement of Faith, and its vision

· Commitment and loyalty to the leadership of Island Community Church with an ability to work well within a team

· Highly motivated with ability to take initiative

· Demonstrated track record of organizing and leading various ministries and events

· Positive attitude with an ability to lead through service

· Ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships

· 4-year college degree from an accredited institution. A theologically-oriented degree is preferable.

· At least a ten-year track record of personal involvement and ministerial leadership in local churches, including at least four years at one church

· 3 church/ministry references required

Worship Pastor Position Responsibilities (Only if the candidate's skill set allows and the positions are combined. The combination is not necessary.) :

· Lead dynamic and engaging worship at the contemporary Sunday morning service and other occasional special events

· Identify, recruit, equip and lead band members for Sunday morning worship

· Cultivate a heart of worship among the congregation

· Lead practice with the band once per week

· Attend occasional staff meetings and participate in planning and implementing church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church

· Approximately 10 hours per week

Worship Pastor Position Requirements

· Strong and consistent personal relationship with Jesus Christ

· Commitment to the mission and vision of Island Community Church

· Proficiency in leading worship vocally

· Ability to work well as a team

· Knowledge of Pro-Presenter, CCLI, Planning Center, A/V preferred

Assistant Pastor Salary:

· $80,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience (includes the value of housing)

· On site 2 or 3 Bedroom/2 Bath house provided

· Insurance and benefits
