Fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity. Performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts. Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data. Writes reports and specifications. Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations.
- Develop Drawings to be used for Permitting, Bidding and Construction.
- Coordinate design criteria through communication with various internal departments, vendors and consultants.
- Prepare Drawing Addenda and Revisions for project updates, plans review responses and other changes affecting the originally prepared Construction Documents.
- Review Vendor Shop Drawings for compliance with design intent.
- Distribute Drawings to the Construction and Development team, assigned vendors and suppliers, as well as internal and external distribution as directed by office policy or the Project Manager.
- Maintain drawing and standards documentation library as assigned.
- Model behaviors that support the company's common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level of quality, responsiveness and results.
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Pilot Flying J and any authority having jurisdiction over Construction projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture is required (5-Year, Bachelor of Architecture). Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail, commercial architecture environment. Architectural License eligibility with National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) is required. Completion / Progress in ARE a plus.
- Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD Architecture and Revit is required.
- Working knowledge in Consultant and Vendor Coordination to aid in preparation of Construction Documents
- Working knowledge in Architectural Design and Detailing skills is required.
- Working knowledge of Building and Fire Codes, as well as Federal Laws to include ADA requirements (this includes all codes applicable to building design)
- Working knowledge in Architectural Design and Detailing skills is required.
- Working knowledge of Construction Documents, AIA Contracts, Specifications and procedures to required to complete these documents.
- Working knowledge of building systems, including Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Communication and Fire Alarm and Monitoring systems. This knowledge is understood to be limited to working knowledge for the purpose of coordination of a complete building design.
- Working knowledge and ability to apply and implement design standards provided under the guidance or regulations of others including the Corporate Architect and other Brand Architects
