The Associate Director will design, develop, and facilitate learning solutions for emerging, first- and second-line sales leaders. This individual will help create intentional leaders throughout the Janssen NA Pharmaceutical sector and will be a strategic business partner supporting Oncology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for assisting in the development, execution/facilitation, and measurement of Leadership Excellence (Lx) training initiatives and programs for defined area(s) of responsibility.
  • Develop solutions within resource constraints while considering costs, sales force time and return on investment.
  • Design programs based on demonstrated training practices (Six Disciplines of Learning) while identifying the learning style and needs of the participants; apply adult learning principles; align training approaches to desired learning outcomes and tailoring materials to the audience.
  • Develop, execute and measure impact of management development curriculum, in-role District Managers, Region Business/Field Directors. Developing materials to support pre and post course engagement that ensures learning transfer and sustainable on-the-job application.
  • Collaborate within the department and across franchises and functions to create innovative, efficient, and scalable solutions by leveraging technology capabilities to improve competencies and capabilities of field sales management.
  • Consult on Oncology therapeutic area needs and recommend training and performance strategies to Senior Management to meet those needs.
  • Design an upgrade to current Regional Business Director on-boarding and on-going training.
  • Lead an evolution of the SalesX Leadership Framework to a more blended approach and design learning and development around it at all levels of sales leadership
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional partners to execute management development training at Franchise Director and Manager meetings. Address regional needs as needed.
  • High attention to detail and look towards the future to find ways to automate and improve efficiencies in processes.
  • Strategic thinking to help build and create the leadership development pathway for tomorrow.

  • The ideal candidate must possess excellent written, oral and presentations skills as this role will require concise communication along with ability to influence key leaders within the organization. The candidate will demonstrate potential to attain positions of greater responsibility within the organization.

Qualifications

Education:

BA/BS required, MA/MBA preferred

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 8 years of related experience in Sales Leadership and/or Learning & Development.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional work teams is required.
  • Ability to create consultative business partnerships and collaborate with business leaders to deliver high impact solutions that drive superior business results is required.
  • Excellent leadership, influence management, collaboration, organizational, and communication skills are required. Budget management experience required.
  • Business experience and industry knowledge to influence company/franchise level decisions and strategies on how best to develop talent required.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and resources (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and learning platforms/LMS (i.e. Summit, Janssen Learn)
  • 10-15% domestic travel is required.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience as District Sales Manager highly preferred.
  • Learning & Development roles highly preferred.
  • Designing, developing, and executing training and development strategies preferred.
  • MBA, MS Organizational Development, Adult Learning, Education preferred

The base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as health insurance, savings plan, pension plan, disability plan, vacation pay, sick time, holiday pay, and work, personal and family time off in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
