CenterPoint Energy is looking for an Associate Regulatory & Rates Analyst to join our Regulatory & Rates Team, located in Evansville, IN.
You will have the ability to: develop and prepare rate and regulatory filings for CenterPoint Energy Regulated Operations which encompasses a 6-state multi-jurisdiction gas distribution area, the transmission and distribution electric utility in Texas, and electric utility in Indiana, with a primary focus on Indiana and Ohio gas utilities. Perform research and analysis as requested to support all regulatory activities. Must be able\willing to take direction from and learn from senior analysts and management.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Assist with the implementation of rate changes and the administration of existing gas rates and tariffs.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of required regulatory reports, annual compliance filings, data responses, ordered compliance filings, and other similar non-rate case filings.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable requirements concerning rates and tariff-related matters.
- Prepare or assist with preparation of regulatory filings, including testimony, schedules, work papers, requests for information, and briefs on a timely basis and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Gather and analyze financial information and operating statistics and their impacts for the development of regulatory strategies.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to support department activities. (Regulatory, Integrated Resource Planning, etc.)
- Support major rate and regulatory projects.
- Establish and maintain communications with members of the various CenterPoint departments.
- Work with other departments to identify and research current issues or trends affecting the regulatory environment.
- Attend workshops and conferences to monitor regulatory proceedings to identify trends, issues, or decisions which might affect Company's regulatory objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside groups such as the public utility commission staff, industry associations, and consumer advocacy groups.
- Analyze public policy, especially regulatory policy and decisions, for its effect on CNP’s business environment.
- Support development of special contract gas rates for current and prospective customers.
Your background includes:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 0-3 years of experience in rate and regulatory matters, business administration, finance, accounting, economics, public policy, or other related fields.
A bonus to have:
- Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
- Advanced skillsets around data compilation, analysis, and Microsoft Excel are a plus.
