Job description
As the Underwriting Associate on our Primary General Liability team, you will assist in the Underwriting of new and renewal business for the team.
Key Accountabilities
- With the guidance, instruction and oversight of underwriting management provide brokers competent & timely service, maintain accurate policy files and data management.
- Assess & rate primary general liability risks, utilizing accurate pricing and established underwriting guidelines.
- Participate and contribute with special projects.
- Offer administrative support to the underwriting team as needed.
Technical Knowledge
- Computer and administrative skills – general working knowledge of MS Office
- Insurance Industry knowledge
Experience
- College degree preferred
- Previous experience in commercial general liability or excess insurance preferred
- Strong emphasis on customer service and relationship building
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable team player
- Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize projects
- Successful completion of insurance courses or industry designations
