Baker/Production Manager

Monday - Friday, 5 AM to 2 PM

• Full-time + Complete Benefits Package
• Salaried Position 45 hours/week
• No weekends Closed Sundays Closed holidays

Baker Duties:

• Operate commercial bakery equipment for high volume of pastries, cakes, cookies, and breads
• Scale and Mix large volumes/varieties of dough/icing/batter
• Deposit cake batter and cookie doughs using automatic depositing machines
• Operate rotating, double rack ovens, and proof box
• Cook custard and chocolate syrup with an electric cooking kettle
• Prepare, proof, fry, and finish donuts and breakfast items
• Produce baked goods to Bethel Bakery quality standards for orders and store pars for both Bethel Park & North Strabane locations

Managerial Duties:

• Build and develop a talented production team including scheduling, evaluation, development, coaching, performance management, safety, and training
• Monitor and improve baked goods quality for appearance, weight and size
• Manage raw material ordering and inventory
• Maintain cleanliness of production facility to ensure safety and sanitation regulations
• Attend weekly management meetings, sharing leading indicators, and results
• Serve on Safety Committee
• Manage and collaborate with other department managers and leads

Experience/Education/Certification:

• 2-5+ years commercial bakery experience and/or scratch bakery including mixing, baking, bench work, pastry bags
• 2-5+ years experience operating bakery equipment including rotating/rack ovens, automatic depositors, 140 qt mixers, electric cooking kettle, proofers, sheeters, scales
• Management and/or leadership experience
• Associates Degree and/or Pastry Arts Degree preferred
• ACHD or ServSafe training/certification a plus
