Bar Manager Job Description
Celebrations on the River, La Crosse’s #1 wedding venue is searching for a talented, committed and proactive Bar Manager who enjoys working in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The Bar Manager will promote and grow our bar business, hire and train bartenders and ensure patrons are receiving excellent service. You will also manage inventory and resources, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, and set business objectives to increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction.
Bar Manager Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of the bar, including inventory, supplies, staffing, bartending, opening/closing procedures, and ordering
- Hiring and training staff
- Closing manager for weddings, which includes final payment, helping guests with gifts and personal items, cleaning off tables, and returning all food products to the kitchen
- Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls
Bar Manager Requirements:
- High school diploma
- 2 or more years of bartender experience
- 2 or more years of bar manager experience
- Moderate computer skills
- Excellent problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts
- Willingness to work nights, almost every weekend and some holidays
- Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced environment
Compensation:
- $19 - $21/hour + Bar Tips
- Bonus based on performance
- Compensation based on experience, proven results and skill level
