Job description

The Banquet Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to ensure the successful training and supervision of the Food & Beverage team while setting up for, the execution of, and breakdown for private and club events at Charlotte Country Club. This position will play a vital role in the success of the Food & Beverage operation by providing effective and professional execution of banquet events, training, and coaching Charlotte Country Club’s service team, and establishing an open, cordial, and respectful relationship with the membership. The Banquet Supervisor will possess strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively and efficiently lead our service team as well as the ability to offer unparalleled service to the membership.


Essential Functions:


Banquet Functions

  • Executes banquet events according to specifications
  • Ensures satisfaction by communicating with the host upon arrival and throughout the event regarding any changes, substitutions or special requests; follows up with host at the conclusion of event to confirm satisfaction
  • Creates staff side work assignments and communicates floor plans; ensuring room preparation (setup of tables, chairs, linens, table settings, glassware, etc.) including a walk-through of all member areas prior to guest arrival
  • Communicates with culinary staff regarding menus, food preparation, and pace of service
  • Acts as a situational leader and assists banquet staff throughout the event as needed
  • Ensures function is billed properly prior to the end of the day
  • Improves execution of future events by communicating feedback
  • Performs other duties and assist with other projects as assigned


A la Carte Operations

  • Ensures and oversees the execution of a personalized dining room experience for the membership
  • Directs proper set-up, supervision, and breakdown for all meal periods
  • Reviews billing for accuracy and records data including comment sheets and cover reports
  • Performs other duties and assist with other projects as assigned


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises F&B service team


Hours/Schedule:

  • Ability to work holidays and weekends is mandatory.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver’s License. If driving company vehicles, must maintain acceptable driving record.
  • A team spirit and positive attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Ability to lead and manage conflict.
  • Computer and customer service skills.
  • The qualified candidate must be honest, respectful, dedicated, ethical, and caring with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Care deeply about creating “Raving Fans”; thus, the candidate should be highly motivated and must always want to make every Member experience special.
  • The desire to learn and improve daily as well as never be satisfied with mediocrity is a key to our success.
  • Confidence is important. Must never shy away from Member contact or seeking new Member business.
  • Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior serving experience in an upscale dining environment, with a strong track record of progression and growth
  • Must be honest, respectful, dedicated, ethical, caring, have a positive attitude, and a spirit to serve
  • Must have excellent time-management skills, be detail-oriented, and have strong follow through skills
  • Must possess a proven track record of leading other talented individuals to successfully providing top level, personalized service to members and guests
  • Must possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and member service skills
  • Must exercise good judgment and discretion in a professional environment
  • Must be open to feedback, growth, and development
