We are currently seeking qualified staff to add to our first-class team of bartenders and mixologists.

About us:

Sagamore Hill is a high-end cocktail bar located in Portland's thriving West End in the historic former Lafayette Hotel. We specialize in well crafted cocktails as well as a liquor portfolio which includes more than 100 varieties of bourbon, rye, scotch and whiskey. The lounge is a popular watering hole for locals, visitors and Portlanders in general. Weekends are high volume and fast paced.

Bartender/Bar Support Functions and Duties:

- Maintain familiarity with bar specialty and seasonal cocktails
- Create a welcoming and friendly environment for bar patrons
- Provide excellent service to patrons at the main bar and on the bar floor as required
- Complete assigned side work as required
- Maintain proper cash management at all times.
- Required to maintain appropriate safe server certification
- Able to stand during an entire work shift
- Able to transport glassware, trash cans and alcohol cases and to lift up to 30 lbs. throughout an entire work shift
- Demonstrate proficiency with Upserve/Breadcrumb POS system or equivalent
- Reading, writing and basic math and verbal communication skills required
- Capable of using knives and other preparation equipment competently and safely

Minimum Qualifications:

- 2 years of experience in a full service bartender or bar support position (hotel, restaurant or club experience)
- Thorough knowledge of classic and standard cocktails, as well as specialty shots and cocktails
- Experience in high-volume bars and bartending positions.
- Experience with craft cocktails or craft cocktail program
- Server experience preferred

This position is considered part-time, but hours are flexible depending upon applicant qualifications. Successful candidates will have availability to work 2-4 shifts per week, including during high volume weekend shifts.
