BAS Sales Engineer

Responsibilities

The Sales Engineer will identify, prepare and provide competitive quotes and project proposals for the supply and installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS). Position responsibilities include:

  • Prospect and network to bring aboard new sales opportunities.
  • Develop new, and maintain existing, relationships with mechanical contractors, general contractors, and end users.
  • Review specifications and drawings and attend pre-bid meetings, site walk throughs, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Review bid documents for completeness, accuracy and coordination with other trades.
  • Work on multiple opportunities concurrently. Prepare bids/proposals/quotations, including costs, resources, time and labor. Respond to customer queries.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years technical sales experience with successful track record.
  • Engineering, math or science degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Electronic Control Systems and HVAC.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, with outgoing and friendly manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to understand legal and construction documents.
  • Andover Controls / Schneider Electric / Distech product knowledge a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work autonomously.

Work Location

  • Sales location is the New York Metropolitan area. The Sales Engineer will be required in office 2 days per week at either our New York City or Glen Cove location.

Annual Salary

$80,000.00 to $115,000.00 base pay plus commission.
