Omega Center for Autism is a multi-disciplinary center specializing in ABA therapy, Occupational and Speech therapy for children with special needs. Omega Center for Autism is seeking qualified, dedicated, compassionate, and energetic individuals to join our team. We have a clinic in Lauderhill, FL and are partnered with private schools to provide therapy in center, home and school.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Therapists are responsible for building/maintaining rapport with the child and keeping up-to-date with program goals/changes for each child.
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Implement the treatment plans created by the supervising BCBA and work in collaboration with other team members
  • Provide treatment in home, school, and community settings
  • Attends scheduled sessions and Implement 1:1 direct ABA intervention in home and/or school settings
  • Collect accurate ongoing data on children's programs
  • Correct implementation of ABA principles to increase skills as decided upon in team meetings and/or as directed by the Program Supervisor
  • Correct implementation of ABA principles to decrease problematic behaviors
  • Clear communication with all team members and parents/clients
  • Receives feedback in a professional manner
  • Participation in team meetings, relates observations, and demonstrates behavior interventions and programs.
  • Submits changes in schedule promptly and to appropriate persons
  • Demonstrates initiative in use of new strategies to further assist the assigned clients
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards in regards to providing the best treatment within the scope of their practice
  • Engages in indirect work does not directly relate to clients but that will help the ecosystem of the company thrive. Examples of such assignments include but are not limited to: assisting with assessments, report writing, assessment protocol updates, creating client programs, sanitizing the play and work areas, creating orderly work environments, supervision of children during down time, assisting with client program updates with the direction of a supervisor, and any related activities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • MUST HAVE prior experience working with children under age of 12
  • Knowledge of Autism and other developmental disorders preferred
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Energetic and enthusiastic
  • Passion for helping children achieve their potential
  • Willing to learn and implement new skills
  • Willing to drive to client’s home/school to provide services
  • Must obtain BLS/CPR certification before starting employment
  • Reliable transportation, driver's license, insurance, and smart phone
  • A positive attitude and willingness to take direction from senior staff members

A Day in the Life:

RBT’s create a fun and motivational environment and gathers their materials to be used in session. All materials are provided by the company and can be created in the center. RBT’s work to teach a child new skills and teach behavior management techniques to their clients based on the treatment plan created by the supervisor. This is done within daily sessions which last between 2-6 hours in length. You will use technology to take data through an application on your phone or tablet. Once each session with your client is complete, you will type comprehensive notes detailing your session and any outcomes. You may refer to the portal to review the programs your analyst has created so that you know what you’re working on with your learner for that day. Your supervisor will observe you in sessions bi-weekly with each of your cases and answer any questions you may have or provide you with feedback.'
