To put it simply, we are seeking a Bilingual Diagnostician who is committed to evaluating students, writing comprehensive reports, and supporting campus staff regarding student intervention and accommodation needs to ensure that ALL students at YES are appropriately identified and have what they need to succeed. THE ROLE

When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:

  • Administering, scoring and interpreting psychoeducational tests and informal assessment measures to determine initial and continued eligibility for special education services;
  • Producing high quality evaluations for students that reflect thoughtful analysis of the student’s strengths and weaknesses, and can be meaningfully explained to both families and other professionals;
  • Collaborating with school administrators, parents, general and special education teachers to communicate the student’s current cognitive and academic functioning levels in a way that is understandable and applicable to development of the student’s individualized education plan (IEP);
  • Participating in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to review special education referrals;
  • Compiling, maintaining and filing reports, records and other required documents;
  • Assisting in the selection and maintenance of testing materials;
  • Attending staff development in-services and workshops to enhance professional skills;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

THE MUST HAVES

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in student evaluation, psychology or in another related field
  • Valid Texas certification as an Educational Diagnostician
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations relating to the provision of psycho-educational assessments, as well as policies established by the Texas Education Agency and the state Board of Examiners Certification for Educational Diagnosticians
  • Fluent in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) and proficient in the administration and scoring of Spanish assessments
  • Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
  • Creates and maintains positive working relationships on a team and/or in a highly collaborative environment
  • A dedication to learn, grow, and develop as a professional

  • CompensationThis position is a salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.

  • Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
