CrossOver Healthcare Ministry provides compassionate, high-quality healthcare to the uninsured and medically underserved in our local community through the operation of two healthcare clinics; one in the City of Richmond and one in Henrico County. About the CrossOver Ryan White and STD Prevention Programs “TIPS” (Treatment, Intervention, Prevention, and Services):

Since 1999, CrossOver has offered diagnostic testing, medical and nursing care, prescription assistance, case management, substance abuse and mental health counseling, transportation assistance, and prevention education for HIV/AIDS clients. In 2020, CrossOver partnered with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) to implement services such as; the STD Community Testing, Rapid Start for HIV/AIDS treatment, and Virginia Medical Assistant Program (VA-MAP) medication pick-up site.

Job description

Position: TIPS (T*reatment, Intervention, Prevention and S*ervices) Bilingual Medical Receptionist

Supervisor: Ryan White and STD Prevention (TIPS) Program Manager

Status: Part-time

Hours: 22-24 hours per week. Generally, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend hours required.

Position Summary: The TIPS Bilingual Medical Receptionist medical receptionist provides the administrative support necessary to deliver quality, compassionate care for the TIPS Program. Key responsibilities include the front office, referrals for imaging, labs and specialty care, eligibility screening, educating patients on how to request specific services, helping volunteers and clients with technology concerns, and assisting patients with questions or concerns pertaining to CrossOver and Ryan White Program policy, procedure, and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient eligibility screening
  • Appointment scheduling
  • All scheduling of imaging referrals
  • Answering phones re: medications, referrals, and appointments
  • Assisting with medical records requests and faxing
  • Data entry
  • Securing the appropriate patient and insurance information
  • Validating insurance information and eligibility
  • Assisting with eClinical issues
  • Assisting TIPS Lead Medical Case Manager in training front office volunteers and interns on electronic health records and front office policies and procedures
  • Assisting volunteers on the clinic floor (providers/ nursing support/ scribes/ interpreters) with questions regarding CrossOver and Ryan White Program policies.
