The Bindery Operator is responsible for providing assistance in various bindery warehouse stations depending on order requirements, including: laminating, collating, spiral coil binding, paper cutting, perfect binding, case binding, and trimming. They are responsible for checking the quality and consistency of the product throughout the day.

Shift Positions: 11:30 am - 8:00 pm (full time), or 4 pm - 8 pm (part time). Training period may require first shift schedule for several weeks (starting at 8:30 am). We are in the process of moving. This position would start in our Akron, Ohio-based office and, should you transition into a permanent full-time position, you would transfer to our Twinsburg, Ohio-based office upon completion of our move (estimated late summer 2023).

Essential Functions:

• Set up and operate laminator machine according to work order.
• Set up and operate perfect binder or coil binding machines according to work order.
• Follow all quality control procedures and check all work for accuracy.
• Report and consult with staff when inaccuracies are found to ensure revisions are made properly and in a timely manner.
• Lift and load paper to machine and remove from machine.
• Must meet schedules and tight deadlines while being responsible for ensuring quality work.
• Work closely with other team members to exceed customer expectations.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule including occasional over-time on weekends.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Operate pallet jacks to transport paper as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be able to manage multiple objectives and tasks simultaneously and be able to adjust immediately to changing priorities.
• Must work well in a team environment and have the ability to communicate needs and objectives with all team members.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and comprehension skills both written and verbal.

• Service minded and motivated to succeed.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bindery equipment operating experience a plus.

Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods and frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. Continuous vision. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. to move palletized load. Frequent reaching, twisting, and gripping up to 25 lbs. to move paper stock. Occasional crouching and use of hand tools during routine machine maintenance.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Hours are Monday through Friday 11:30am-8:30pm or 4pm-8pm. Weekend hours may be required during peak production times. Temporary positions could transition to full-time after 30-60 days. Full time positions typically works 40-50 hours per week. We're looking for someone who can consistently work their scheduled shift, Monday-Friday, with excellent attendance.
