We’re looking for a Bookkeeper/Controller - extensive accounting background required, along with advanced experience in integrated accounting software, QuickBooks & Excel and an understanding of job costing & batch accounting (in Construction a bonus)to join our small team.
Objective
As the Bookkeeper/Controller, you will be required to work efficiently without distractions and with great attention to detail. You will work full time, Monday through Friday in our Lakeway/Bee Cave office with a pleasant attitude, organization, motivation, professionalism while performing complex and challenging responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
· Successfully work with a team of construction professionals;
· Focus and prioritize a plethora of daily/weekly/monthly tasks, and complete each in a timely manner;
· Process weekly invoices from receipt through check generation and distribution
· Work on FAST System for homebuilder accounting, i.e., inputting invoices and printing checks and much more.
· Filing as related to this position (small company)
· Phones as needed and greeting guests (small company/other in office to help)
· Track homeowner allowance numbers in spreadsheets and BuilderTrend.
· Support the Builders & Purchaser/Estimator to ensure that the home's budget is maintained throughout the construction process.
· Track and organize Change Orders for homeowners.
· Prepare 1099s and W2s.
· Work with company CPA to help facilitate information for preparation of tax returns, etc., for all companies;
· Work in QuickBooks for 3 additional companies.
· Prepare & Work on Excel documents.
· Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
· Comply with federal, state, local and industry legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports and advising the Owner on needed actions.
· Study existing HR regulations and comply.
· Ensure operation of in office and field equipment by establishing preventative maintenance requirements and service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques
· Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Skills and Experience Required
· Excellent customer-oriented attitude and a CAN-DO approach
· Self-motivated, detail oriented and good communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills with keen ability to prioritize, multi-task and pay close attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to ask questions, willingness to take charge and make sound decisions.
· Conscientious and strong work ethic.
· Computer literacy, proficiency with Outlook, Excel, BuilderTrend and/or ability to learn new programs as needed.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance a must.
· Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in accounting/finance
· Experience in Construction a bonus
