We’re seeking a BR&T Payload Products & Technologies Business Operations and Finance Lead to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA.

This position will lead a growing staff within the Payload Products & Technologies (PP&T) team under Boeing Research & Technology’s (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) organization.

The Mission Systems & Autonomy team drives integrated technology development and rapidly transitions capabilities in areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomy, cyber security, advanced electronics, communications, networking, platform subsystems and digital aviation. This position will require less than 10% travel.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, reviews, analyzes and maintains cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and communicates cost and/or schedule trends, and assesses range of opportunities and risks

  • Leads the development, integration and analysis of resource forecasts and Estimates at Completion (EACs) for IR&D and externally funded projects

  • Develops performance reports and integration of variance analyses and provides clear, concise understanding of operational and financial performance to senior management

  • Directs scheduling activities for proposals, business forecasts and project execution.

  • Provides business guidance and program baselining support for external contracts.

  • Makes recommendations to senior management on financial performance projections using financial and business knowledge and experience

  • Coordinate efforts to troubleshoot process and tool issues, identifies root cause and recommends solutions

  • Work with Program/Project leadership team to handle a program baseline and implement Earned Value Management

  • Responsible for the monthly Forecast analysis and support to Customer deliverables

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. ***Note: the expectation of onsite work is at least 3 days per week.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, or Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)

  • 3+ years of experience with Earn Value Management (EVM)

  • Experience leading a team formally or informally

  • Experience with the Microsoft office suite

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with COGNOS, COBRA, EAC and other accounting systems containing historical cost data actuals

  • Experience with integrating data from multiple databases to perform program analytics

  • Intermediate or above excel skill level and able to create formula functions and/or macros to create custom tools

  • Experience with Open Plan Professional (OPP)

  • Experience working with the corporate EAC process, control account EAC process, and budget baseline process

  • Experience with program scheduling

  • Experience with Financial Planning Process and Tools, including Forecast and Long Range Business Plan (LRBP)/Strategy Plan

  • Experience with inventory management and material [requirements] planning systems

  • Experience with Supplier Integration

  • Experience with commercial and/or FAR-based contracts fundamentals

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $106,250 - $143,750
