The division is home to 26 Worship and Community Centers (Corps), 67 service extension units, a camp, as well as multiple homeless shelters, thrift stores and food pantries. The Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician will oversee and execute all functions relative to the cleaning and maintenance of Divisional Headquarters.

About the role:
  • Performs all janitorial and maintenance services as required, including snow removal, such as shoveling and salting sidewalks and entryways as needed. Perform lawn care duties, such as mowing, and maintaining landscaping beds.
  • Consults with supervisor on major maintenance projects and reports periodically on progress.
  • Monitors, schedules and performs basic preventative maintenance to the building, including interior inspection of plumbing and electrical needs, basic routine elevator inspections, and exterior needs. Works with various vendors for building issues when required.
  • Programs and monitors the building HVAC system using Metasys, to ensure optimal comfort for the employees.
  • Responds to power outages and ensures power and HVAC is working properly, during and after business hours. Serves as main contact for building security issues.
  • Orders and maintains paper products and custodial supplies.
  • Prepares and maintains building maintenance records.
  • Assist employees with special requests, such as moving heavy / balky materials and loading / unloading equipment into vehicles.
  • Sets up and tears down conference rooms.
  • Fleet maintenance for DHQ – cleaning vehicles and monitor for safety.
  • Monitors the ARC donation box and removes donations left on the loading dock. Coordinates with the ARC for pickup of all donated items.
  • Picks up and delivers mail on a daily basis.

Education: High School or Diploma preferred

Experience: Three years’ experience in building maintenance
