UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Business Analyst for a hybrid position in Albany, NY. Applicants should be prepared for 3 days onsite and 2 days remote work in Albany, NY.

Position: TheBusiness Analyst staff will help client stakeholders identify a grants and scholarship management solution that will maximize the value delivered by the HESC, or HESC-sourced, application development team. The Business Analyst will investigate business systems, elements of the organization structure, and document requirements using industry standard techniques.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science and 5 years of relevant experience, with increasing independence and complexity of assignments.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in performing requirements gathering and business analysis, producing written documentation of requirements; system design and implementation.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of requirements elicitation and documentation with participants.
  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience performing application testing, developing and executing written test scripts, documenting, tracking, communicating, and reporting defects utilizing testing tools such as Jira, quality center, or rationale.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing business requirements by translating the needs, expectations, constraints, and interfaces into a format understandable to both clients and technologists, using various methods (e.g., brainstorming, document analysis, facilitated meetings, focus groups, interface analysis, interviews, observation, prototyping, requirements workshops, reverse engineering, survey questionnaire by asking the right questions to surface essential requirements information).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working to establish criteria for evaluation and acceptance of requirements, manage requirements scope, obtain commitment to the requirements from the project participants.
  • Able to identify project work and requirements inconsistencies during defect and requirements management and communication.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in requirement analysis and validation, analyzes requirements to ensure that they are complete, feasible, realizable, and verifiable. Provide the capability to identify key requirements that have a strong influence on cost, schedule, functionality, risk, or performance.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience analyzing requirements and representing the requirements textually as well as via visual models or graphical form, to communicate the requirements effectively to the required audience.

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior work with New York State.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

  • Analyze existing system documentation and related artifacts to elicit detailed requirements.
  • Analyze and understand as-is business processes and systems sufficiently to establish to-be workflows and designs.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including subject matter experts (SMEs), executive teams, managers, program directors, and end users to meet the business needs of the project.
  • Conduct requirements gathering, validation, and rationalization processes.
  • Collaborate with the HESC team on requirements definition to confirm that system requirements align with state and federal standards and strategy.
  • Evaluate project timelines and priorities.
  • Adhere to internal controls, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to the system’s development life cycle.
  • Provide guidance to application development resource(s), through product backlogs, user stories, roadmaps, sprint plans, and related artifacts.
  • Ensure application development resource(s) understand the features and enhancements that need to be developed and deployed to meet the business needs of the project.
  • Support software validation through user acceptance and similar test strategies.
  • Develop test scenarios and test cases for system, integration and UAT using requirements, process flows and use cases/user stories.
  • Test system functionality and document test results.
  • Assist with change control and release planning for system bug fixes, enhancements, and upgrades.
  • Participate in data migration planning, analysis, and cleansing, working closely with DBA’s, vendor and HESC Business owners.
  • Provide project management support as needed.
