Annual Salary Range: $90k - $110k DOE

Business Development Manager
The Manager of Business Development reports to the Director of Product Line Management and works collaboratively to drive internal and external growth initiatives of the company assisting in the research, identification and analysis of markets, partnerships, technology licensing, and acquisitions.
Works across function lines to perform market research, cost & margin analysis, and technology assessments. Assists the Director of Product Line Management in overseeing the Mantrose / NatureSeal Customer Service team and providing product line leadership to all business segments.
· Partners with the Commercial and R&D teams across business segments and regions to identify target customers, establishing plans for attaining business growth, establishing key connections with influencers and stakeholders.
· Employs innovative strategies and technology-based resources such as market analysis and competitive research to target customers and refine messaging across countries and regions. Identifies and champions the execution of global strategic projects.
· Creates customer and product line presentations and product announcements collaboratively with the Commercial team.
· Partners with functional teams including Sales, R&D, and Marketing across regions to execute market introductions and drive product launches to meet customer needs and business objectives, while navigating the complexity of diverse markets and geographies.
· Maintains strong alignment and collaboration with the Commercial and R&D teams to support projects and develop opportunities.
· Identifies and develops growth opportunities based on market intelligence, future trends, sales, and customer feedback.
· Acts as a business owner and steps in where and as needed, i.e., in case of sourcing, quality or regulatory issues, to achieve overall business success.
· Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of markets and the competitive environment to facilitate business development efforts. Actively provides market and competitive intelligence to regional sales, marketing, product management, and technical teams.
· Provides technical education of products and the product value proposition to the Commercial team and supports initial sales training and activity with the goal of meeting short and long-term targets for revenue, profitability, and market share.
· Works with Product Line Management and Sales to set pricing guidelines for new and existing products using value pricing methodologies.
· Supports the Commercial team in drafting and negotiating contracts as needed working collaboratively with the legal department.
· Networks at trade shows and other technical venues to build knowledge and identify new prospects.
· Partners with Sales and R&D to identify new project ideas in support of the company growth strategy based on unmet needs; develops business cases and project documentation and acts as the project business owner through the new product development process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Food Science, preferably or Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
- Graduate coursework in business administration or business-related field is a plus.
· Minimum of 5 to 7 years of technical sales or business development experience in the food or pharmaceutical ingredients industries.
· Strong commercial acumen with experience of presenting to senior management.
· Proven record of achieving targets and driving revenue in high-growth, rapidly evolving markets.
· Superior organizational, planning, project management skills, ability to maintain demanding timelines
· Strong analytical skills, problem solving, critical thinking, organization, and planning skills.
· Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communications skills
· High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools
