POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for delivering key insights to the different business units to achieve strategic and tactical goals. The skills and expertise of the position will transform data into useful KPIs, reports, and analytic dashboards providing actionable insights to improve decision making at all levels of the organization. The BI Developer will work closely with the departments in the organization to gather requirements and understand the business needs of each business unit to deliver the best analytical outcome and promote adoption. The BI Developer will work independently to improve and maintain the BI systems created.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates reports, dashboards, and analytics tools using SQL, Power-BI, and SSRS

  • Calculates company and industry standard KPIs to track performance within the organization

  • Conducts analysis to identify trends and patterns that would improve outcomes

  • Develops familiarity with a variety of data sources including transactional databases, EDW, internal and external information.

  • Communicates with the business units to understand their requirements, continuously supports them, and develops dashboards.

  • Communicates and presents finding to all levels of the organization.

  • Documents all processes and codes for data governance and internal knowledge base.

  • Assists and mentors' peers within the team and contributes with business solutions when applicable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently

  • Ability to work within a team and collaborate with each other to problem solve

  • Strong data management skills

  • Detailed oriented and excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to present and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Skilled at developing Business Intelligence and analytics solutions

  • Experience with understanding EDI file formats and healthcare industry data sets a plus

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to partner, consult, and advise at all levels of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. or B.A in computer science, business administration, finance, statistics, or related fields required

  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience a plus

  • 1+ years of experience in SQL or similar coding language

  • 1+ years of experience working with different analytics tools (Power-BI, SSRS, or QlikView)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

  • Experience working with business units, gathering requirements and support in creating solutions

  • Experience in database programming, stored procedures, data imports and exports a plus

  • Familiarity with healthcare industry a plus
