Job summary
We are seeking an organised and motivated individual to undertake the role of Business Management Support Officer within Robson Academy of Resilience based at RAF Cranwell. Robson academy of Resilience is part of 22 Gp and is responsible for the Defence Survival Training Organisation (DSTO), Human Factors, Stress Management and resilience Training, Adventurous Training, Force Development and Fire Training. The Robson Academy Organisation has a footprint in the Midlands and southwest of England, Wales, Scotland, and overseas in Germany. The Business Management team are responsible for In Year Management, annual budget cycle planning, forecasting, provision of advice, guidance and scrutiny on expenditure proposals, the management of electronic purchasing cards and general policy and procedures. The post reports directly to the Deputy Business Manager and will include deputising during periods of authorised absence.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The Business Management Support Officer is to provide business support to Commandant Robson Academy of Resilience through the Deputy Business Manager. This includes assistance with governance and assurance of business management and financial processes to ensure value for money on the procurement of good and services. The post supports the Deputy Business Manager as a focal point for all Electronic Purchasing Cards (ePCs), monthly audits of overtime, civilian travel and subsistence claims and travel data to ensure that policy and guidance is adhered too. Investigation into any anomalies in relation to expenditure and ensure that all financial processes are conducted in line with Air Command Policies. The primary responsibilities of the Business Support Officer are:
- Approval of CP&F requisitions in line with your delegated financial limit
- Assist the business manager/deputy business manager with financial budget returns including investigating queries with the commodity managers and key stakeholders
- Assist in the maintenance and auditing of all ePCs
- Act as Deputy ePC Manager processing new applications & uplifts to single and monthly limits
- Auditing of claims
- Act as the Business Management Teams sharepoint liaison including the housekeeping of all electronic files.
- Assist with civilian engagement
- Routine office management tasks as required by the Business Manager/Deputy Business Manager
- Maintaining current in relevant policies, processes, and mandatory training
- Financial Skills Certificate (to be obtained within 6 months)
- LVP Managers Course (to be obtained within 3 months)
