No Weekends, No Call, No Holidays

Bon Secours Surgery Center at Harbour View is seeking a Full-Time Business Office Manager. We are a busy multispecialty surgery center serving Northern Suffolk and an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International (USPI). USPI’s mission is to care for each patient and their family as if they were our own. Each patient, each family, each and every time. The Business Office Manager is responsible for front office departmental functions in support of USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals. Under the direction of the Administrator, he/she is responsible for covering all aspects of the business office and other special projects as required. While maintaining strict confidentiality, this position works collaboratively with physicians, clinical leadership team, and front-line staff while providing quality work that supports excellent patient care.

Areas of Responsibility/Direct Supervision:

  • Front Office:Scheduling
  • Registration
  • Medical Records
  • Accounts Receivable/Payable - knowledge of invoice payments processing
  • Insurance Verification
  • Patient Account Reimbursements/Claims Processing
  • Strong billing Experience
  • Cashiering - bank deposits including recording and maintaining deposit log
  • Credentialing
  • Payroll
  • Other Office FunctionsSurgical Case Analysis

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High level of professional judgment and discretion
  • Independent decision making skills and critical thinking
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Advocate of patient safety and quality of care
  • Maintain standards of patient care within the Center in compliance with professional and regulatory standards and recommended procedures

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a business or HIM related field is preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ business office experience in a hospital, surgery center, or medical office preferred
  • Three (3) years of direct supervision of employees preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting and ability to use computer automated accounting systems
  • Strong knowledge of Billing and familiarity with various insurance plans to include Medicare, Medicaid, Anthem etc. preferred
  • Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
  • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates accountability, integrity, professionalism, openness
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
